Free Thank You Dinners for Veterans

Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11th 2009. If you are currently serving or have served in the United States Military you can take advantage of a free "Thank you" dinner at your local Applebee's or Golden Corral restaurant. (These are separate events with different dates, so you can attend both!)

*Applebee's is honoring veterans and active duty military by offering a free entree (lunch or dinner) on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 (Veterans Day) at all locations nationwide.
*Golden Corral is holding their 9th annual Military Appreciation Monday Dinner on Monday, November 16, 2009, from 5 to 9 pm in all Golden Corral restaurants nationwide. Open to veterans, retired and currently serving, National Guard and Reserves.

NC Big Sweep Beach Cleanup Saturday

It's time again for the North Carolina Big Sweep clean up of our beaches and waterways. Come on out on September 26th, 2009 at 9 a.m. to participate in the event for New Hanover County. Refreshments and equipment will be provided. Meet at any of the following locations:

Carolina Beach: Carolina Beach Boardwalk
Kure Beach: Kure Beach Pier
Wrightsville Beach: Johnnie Mercer's Pier
Greenfield Lake: Boathouse
