Lights Out Please on Saturday Night

Earth Hour 2009 is this Saturday, March 28th from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Wherever you are in the world you can participate in the event by simply turning out all of your lights for one hour. Your light switch is your Vote. Earth Hour began in Sydney Australia in 2007 and has grown into a global movement with 50 million participants in 2008. The goal for 2009 is to present the 1 billion "votes" to the leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

VOTE EARTH

The Earth Hour site is filled with additional information on how to help spread the word, hold your own event and also has great downloads for posters, stickers and more. If you sign up for email they'll even send you a reminder before the event!

We've been working hard to find the ultimate eco-friendly beach towel and are thrilled to introduce them, just in time for spring. Sea Glass Organic now offers Coyuchi's 100% certified organic cotton beach towels available in three beautiful colors: Willow Green, Juniper Blue and Taupe. Coyuchi's quality, commitment to fair trade and the environment is exceptional. The 100% certified organic and fair trade cotton is grown in India and hand picked. The cotton twill weave is 550gsm (grams per square meter) and is free from chemical finishing. The towels are generously sized at 35" x 65". Perfect for the beach or poolside. We think you'll agree that these are the ultimate eco-friendly beach towels!

It's seems odd to be writing this when we are expecting a rare snowstorm later tonight. Perhaps your lucky enough to be traveling to a sunny beach for spring break. As for the rest of us we'll just keep thinking about those warm days ahead.
